Two Car Accident Victims Air Lifted From Coolidge

Coolidge, Arizona—Two people were air lifted from Arizona Boulevard in Coolidge on Thursday following a two car accident there. The collision occurred when the driver of a Chevrolet Impala failed to yield while leaving a commercial parking lot. The Impala collided with a southbound Kia Sonata, which caused the Kia to first strike a light pole, then hit a shopping center sign.

No one in the Impala was injured, and the driver was cited for failure to yield.

Names of those involved in the accident have not yet been released. We wish speedy recoveries for those who were injured.

Kurt Allen Schenker of Erie, Pennsylvania died Friday night when the pick-up truck in which he was a passenger plunged into the Gila Gravity Canal and became submerged.  The truck, driven by Colton Garrett Whiteside of Chillicothe, Missouri, drove off an access road into the canal.
 
Three Members of Hirayama Family Killed, One Critically Injured in Accident

Tomohiro Hirayama, Sachiyo Hirayama, and their son, Yuki Hirayama, were killed Friday in a car crash on the Navajo Reservation.  A fourth member of the family, Rinka, age 9, was critically injured and transported to a Phoenix hospital for treatment of her injuries.
