Parker, Arizona—Buckskin Fire emergency personnel responded to a boating accident on the Colorado River just north of Parker at Fox’s RV Park Resort on Tuesday morning. Upon arrival, they found a boat wedged under a dock with a man and a woman trapped inside. Three other people who had been in the boat were standing on the dock.
When crews extracted the victims, the woman was deceased. The man was transported to La Paz Regional Hospital where he later died. While authorities did not release the names of those involved, they did say the boaters appeared to be in their seventies.
Investigators speculate that the boat may have had a mechanical problem because there were no signs of impairment. La Paz County Sheriff’s Office is handling the investigation. The Arizona Game and Fish Department assisted at the scene.
We offer our sympathy to the victims’ families and friends as they mourn the loss of their loved ones.
