DPS Trooper Injured While Directing Traffic on SR-85 in Buckeye
Buckeye, Arizona—The Department of Public Safety reports that a state trooper was seriously injured while directing traffic on SR-85 on Monday night. Troopers were in the area at about 6:00 p.m. directing all northbound traffic on SR-85 into the right lane.
The as-yet unidentified state trooper’s service vehicle was parked in the median with emergency lights flashing. A blue Ford F-150 moved to pass traffic on the left and struck the back of the trooper’s vehicle. Both the trooper and the driver of the Ford pickup are hospitalized with serious injuries.
