Deadly Wrong-Way Accident on I-40 Near Winona

Flagstaff, Arizona—A wrong-way accident on I-40 near Winona has left at least one person dead and another with serious injuries.
The deadly accident occurred on I-40 at milepost 218 and involved two vehicles. A vehicle traveling the wrong way on the divided highway struck an RV. The vehicle then burst into flames.
Bystanders who came on the scene rescued a man trapped in the RV and brought him to safety until paramedics arrived on scene to render aid.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety is investigating the accident.
