Five Children and Two Adults Injured in Peoria Crash
Peoria, Arizona—Five children and two adults were seriously injured when the minivan in which they were riding was struck by a pickup truck on Saturday evening.
The accident occurred near Deer Valley Road and 87th Avenue. According to Peoria Police accident investigators, the pickup truck was heading northbound on 87th Avenue when the collision occurred.
One child was ejected from the minivan. Three children suffered life-threatening injuries, and one was air evacuated from the scene to a hospital. One of the victims, a 12-year-old girl, later died.
The driver of the pickup, Amber Sloan, age 23, was arrested for reckless endangerment.
Accident investigators have not released the names of any of the victims as they continue to search for the cause of the accident.
