Chandler, Arizona—Two people were ejected from a car that crashed on Loop 202 at Arizona Avenue on November 13th.  Both were backseat passengers, but were not wearing seatbelts.  Four of the other occupants sustained injuries warranting transport to a nearby hospital even though they were wearing seatbelts.

Jessie Bennett, age 20, one of the passengers who was ejected, died after lingering in a coma for five days.  Her family and friends believe a seatbelt would have saved her life.

Accident investigators have not released the names of the other victims as they continue to explore the cause of the accident.

We extend our condolences to the family and friends of Ms. Bennett over this tragic loss.  We wish the injured speedy and complete recoveries.
