
Woman Critically Injured in Hit-and-Run Accident in Phoenix

Phoenix, Arizona—A 19-year-old woman is in extremely critical condition following a hit-and-run accident on Sunday afternoon at Mohave Street and 7th Avenue. Phoenix Police accident investigators report that a car driven by Cuauhtemoc Rodriguez Ibarra, age 51, struck the motorcycle driven by an as-yet unidentified female.
Witnesses told police the car drove eastbound on Mohave Street following the collision. Witnesses provided police with enough information to locate and arrest Ibarra.
Police say Ibarra displayed signs of impairment. He was processed and booked into 4th Avenue Jail for aggravated assault and aggravated DUI.
The driver of the motorcycle remains in extremely critical condition in an area hospital. We wish her the best for a full and rapid recovery.
