Phoenix, Arizona—John Ollis, age 35, and Skye Orozca, age 30, were killed last night in a horrific collision with a semi-truck near 99th Avenue and Buckeye Road.  The two were riding west on Buckeye Road when the semi, driven by Carlos Moran, age 53, made a left turn from a driveway onto Buckeye Road in front of the motorcycle.

Following the collision with the truck, the motorcycle travelled about 500 feet down the road and eventually came to rest in a ditch.  Both riders were ejected from the bike on impact, and they were struck multiple times by other cars travelling on Buckeye Road.  As a result, the bodies of both victims were dismembered.

The accident remains under investigation.  No citations have yet been issued.

Mr. Ollis and Ms. Orozca both worked at the Lewis Prison.

We extend our condolences to the families and friends of both victims of this terrible accident.
