Samuel Quick Killed, Passenger Injured in Motorcycle Accident Caused by Impaired Driver

Phoenix, Arizona—Samuel Quick, age 21, died as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on Indian School Road near 41st Avenue on Thursday night. His passenger, an unidentified 22-year-old woman, sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

According to investigators with the Phoenix Police Department, Mr. Quick was operating his motorcycle westbound on Indian School Road when Yasmelli Saenz failed to yield and collided with the motorcycle. Mr. Quick and his passenger both were thrown from the motorcycle. Although both were wearing helmets, Mr. Quick died at the scene.

Accident investigators believe that Mr. Saenz was impaired at the time of the crash. He was charged with manslaughter, aggravated assault and endangerment.

We extend our condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Quick over this tragic loss, made worse due to the reckless actions of another.
