Wrong-Way Driver on SR-51 Seriously Injures Motorcyclist

Phoenix, Arizona—A vehicle traveling south in the northbound lanes of SR-51 collided with a motorcyclist near Glendale Avenue on Sunday night.  The motorcyclist was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries.  The wrong-way driver was not hurt.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety first received calls about the wrong-way driver shortly after 10:00 p.m., followed by calls about the resulting accident.  Authorities have not released the names of the victims, as the investigation continues.
