Edgar Nuñez-Hernandez Killed in Goodyear Car Accident

Tolleson, Arizona—More than 100 people attended a vigil to celebrate the life of Edgar Nuñez-Hernandez, a 13-year-old student at Profirio H. Gonzales Elementary School who tragically was killed in a car accident in Goodyear last Monday.

According to accident investigators with the Goodyear Police Department, Edgar was a passenger in a vehicle with other family members when a pickup truck slammed into their vehicle at a high rate of speed. Seven people were taken to area hospitals following the crash. Edgar died at the hospital.

At the vigil, Edgar was remembered as a a talented and successful student, maintaining straight-As and serving as student council president.

He put 100 percent effort in everything that he did without a doubt. You have all your fellow classmate votes for Heaven's next student council president.
