Rollover Accident on I-17 in Phoenix Kills Megan Kay Paulson

Phoenix, Arizona—Megan Kay Paulson, age 22, was killed when two cars collided on the southbound access road to Interstate 17 south of Thunderbird Road on Friday afternoon.

According to Arizona Department of Public Safety accident investigators, Ms. Paulson was ejected when the Volkswagen Passat in which she was a passenger collided with a Nissan Altima. 

Both vehicles broke through the retaining chain-link fence and rolled.  The wreckage obstructed the southbound emergency lane on I-17.  Ms. Paulson died at the scene, while the drivers of both cars were unharmed.

The accident investigation is ongoing.

We extend our condolences to the family and friends of Ms. Paulson over this tragic loss.
