Phoenix, Arizona—Nathan Joseph Painter, age 43 of Tempe, entered pleas of not guilty this morning to eight charges filed against him in connection with a hit-and-run accident in Chandler on October 26th.  Painter is facing prosecution on aggravated DUI, hit-and-run, aggravated assault, and endangerment, among others.

Painter reportedly lost control of his pickup truck on Ray Road, went off the roadway, and eventually struck an SUV on Arrowhead Drive, causing the SUV to roll twice.

Painter fled the scene of the collision, but witnesses followed him until he eventually stopped his vehicle.

Two 3 year old boys who were passengers in the SUV received serious injuries, while the adult driver and another young girl sustained minor injuries.

Chandler Police Department investigators report that impairment was a factor in the accident.

We wish all those injured speedy and complete recoveries, and we again warn all motorists not to drink and drive.
