Bylas, Arizona—A head-on collision on Sunday night involving two pickup trucks in eastern Arizona resulted in the death of one of the drivers.  Richard Allbee, age 51 of El Paso, Texas, was a retired sergeant major in the Texas Army National Guard and a police narcotics detective in El Paso.

Arizona Department of Public Safety accident investigators report that the pickup driven by John Savage, age 50, crossed the center line on U.S. 70 near Bylas.  Authorities suspect Mr. Savage’s alcohol impairment is the cause of the crash.

Mr. Allbee’s wife, Norma Allbee, age 58, was a passenger in the pickup with her husband.  She was transported by air to Banner University Medical Center in Tucson in critical condition.

We extend our condolences to the Albee family and friends over their tragic loss.  We wish speedy and full recoveries for those who were injured.
