Rita Etzl Killed in Indiana Crash

Georgetown, Indiana—Rita Etzl, age 65 of Phoenix, was killed Wednesday when a dump truck heading in the opposite direction hydroplaned, crossed the centerline, then collided head-on with the Honda SUV in which Ms. Etzl was traveling.  The tragic incident occurred on rain-soaked SR-62 near Georgetown, Indiana.

Other passengers in the SUV were transported to University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Georgetown Fire and Rescue.  Ms. Etzl died at the scene.

An investigation by the Combined Accident Reconstruction Team continues. 

We extend our condolences to the family and friends of Ms. Etzl over this tragic loss.
