Phoenix, Arizona—Sabrina Levi, age 59, died from injuries she received in a head-on collision late last month.

Noe Padilla Ahumada, age 37, was driving his pick-up truck north on 51st Avenue near Olive Avenue when he reportedly crossed into the southbound lanes and collided head-on with Ms. Levi’s sedan.  Both drivers were trapped in their vehicles.

Although the Glendale Police vehicular crimes unit reports that speed was not a factor in the accident, a witness reportedly saw Mr. Ahumada’s truck swerve into oncoming traffic several times prior to the crash.

Mr. Ahumada was transported to a hospital where his blood was drawn.  A Police accident spokesperson reported that Ahumada’s blood alcohol content was double that allowable under Arizona law.

Ahumada’s injuries are non-life threatening.  He is charged with manslaughter and bond is set at $10,000.

We extend our condolences to Ms. Levi’s family and friends over this tragic loss.
