Lake Havasu City, Arizona—Separate accidents involving three semi-tractor trailers killed two people over the weekend and injured several others.

The first crash occurred at 11:30 p.m. Sunday on Interstate 40 at milepost 11.  Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesperson Bart Graves reports that a westbound semi-tractor trailer was struck head-on by a Ford Ranger pickup truck going the wrong way.  The pick-up truck driver, Ralph Steven Salazar, age 63 of Lake Havasu City, died at the scene.

The second accident occurred about five hours later at milepost 16.4.  The driver of a semi-truck was killed when he slammed into another rig that was stopped from the previous fatal accident.  Graves identified the deceased as Alex White, age 34 of Evans, Georgia.

We extend our condolences to the families and friends of Mr. Salazar and Mr. White over these tragic losses.  We wish the injured people swift and complete recoveries.
