Car Accident Near Show Low Kills Jayson Murset
Show Low, Arizona—Jayson Murset, age 16, died of injuries he received when the car in which he was a passenger hit a patch of ice, causing the driver to lose control. The accident occurred on Saturday morning as Jayson’s father was driving him and his sister, Savana, up north for a weekend of skiing.
As they neared Show Low, their car hit a patch of ice, sending it into oncoming traffic where it collided with another vehicle. Arizona Department of Public Safety accident investigators report that Savana remains hospitalized at Phoenix Children’s Hospital in critical condition. Their father is recuperating at home with a concussion and a bruised lung.
Jayson was a junior at Campo Verde High School in Gilbert where he played on the basketball team. No information was released about possible injuries to people in the other vehicle.
We offer our sympathy to the Murset family upon their loss of Jayson. We wish Savana a quick and full recovery.
