Heber-Overgaard, Arizona—One person died in a rollover accident on SR-377 between Heber-Overgaard and Holbrook on Monday morning at about 10:15 a.m.

Arizona DPS accident investigators report that a black Toyota SUV traveling southbound on SR-377 crossed the northbound lane and continued off the roadway into a culvert, rolling and ejecting the passenger in the process. The as-yet unidentified passenger died at the scene.  The driver, also not-yet named, was transported to Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Show Low with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities are searching for a service dog that was in the vehicle but ran away from the accident.  The dog is a retired Washington State Police K-9.  DPS and the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office ask anyone who sees the dog to call (928) 524-4050.

We offer our condolences to the victim’s family and friends at this time of great loss for them.  We wish a speedy and full recovery for the injured driver and success in the search for the service dog.
