Anthony Naccarelli Killed in Phoenix Crash, Matthew Schwartz Charged with Manslaughter

Phoenix, Arizona—Anthony Naccarelli, age 22, was killed in a crash at 51st Avenue and Union Hills Drive yesterday.

According to investigators with the Phoenix Police Department, Matthew Schwartz, age 33, was operating a Chevy Cruze southbound on 51st Avenue near Union Hills Drive when he crashed into the rear of a Ford Focus driven by Mr. Naccarelli. The impact propelled the Ford Focus into a traffic light pole at the southwest corner of the intersection.

Mr. Naccarelli was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Police investigating the deadly collision detected signs and symptoms of impairment on the part of Mr. Schwartz. He was arrested and charged with manslaughter, a Class 2 felony. The crash remains under investigation.
