Avondale, Arizona—A three-year-old child was seriously injured when two cars collided in Avondale on Saturday night.  Deputies with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call at Avondale Boulevard and Broadway Road.

Investigators determined that a woman driving westbound on Broadway Road struck another car that was northbound on Avondale Boulevard.  The woman driving the first car suffered only minor injuries, while the three-year-old child riding with her sustained very serious injuries.  The man driving the second car declined treatment.

No additional information regarding identities or current medical conditions of the victims presently is available.  Authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident.

We wish the young child a fast and full recovery.
