Phoenix, Arizona—Wilder Uriel Diaz-Gomez, age 27, and Yahir Uriel-Diaz, age 18, were killed when a Chrysler 300 slammed into their Toyota Scion with such force that both vehicles were thrown over the surrounding sidewalks. The crash occurred early Saturday morning.

Elidio Saenz, age 23, was driving his Chrysler westbound on Indian School Road at a high rate of speed when he collided with the Toyota as it turned onto 31st Avenue.

Phoenix Fire Department first responders reported that one person required extrication from the wreckage.  Mr. Diaz-Gomez and Mr. Uriel-Diaz were transported to the hospital in extremely critical condition.  They both later died.

During the investigation, police accessed the airbag control module of Saenz’s car and learned that he was traveling 96 miles per hour one second prior to the collision and 78 miles per hour at impact.  Saenz was arrested upon his release from the hospital and charged with manslaughter.  He was booked into Maricopa County jail on a $100,000 bond.
