
Phoenix Firefighter Injured in Car Accident on I-10

Phoenix, Arizona—A firefighter with the Phoenix Fire Department was injured when the fire truck he occupied was struck at a high rate of speed on I-10 near the 67th Avenue exit.
The unidentified firefighter was part of a crew responding to a car fire in the westbound lanes of I-10. According to accident investigators with the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a vehicle driven by a 23-year-old man at a high rate speed crashed into the rear of the fire truck.
Both the firefighter and the driver of the vehicle sustained injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment. DPS continues to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
