
Hit-and-Run on I-17 in Phoenix Leaves Woman With Life-Threatening Injuries

Phoenix, Arizona—A hit-and-run accident sent a female pedestrian to the hospital with life-threatening injuries early Monday morning. The woman was walking along the Bethany Home Road exit of Interstate 17 when she was struck.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a car driven by someone identified only as a teenager struck a wall on the Bethany Home off-ramp while exiting at about 2:00 a.m. The driver attempted to flee the scene but was stopped when the car struck a concrete barrier. There were three passengers in the vehicle at the time.
Troopers detained all four teens. The driver will be charged with driving while under the influence, aggravated assault and leaving the scene of a serious accident.
