Jacinta Raya Killed, Three Injured in Phoenix Crash

Phoenix, Arizona—Jacinta Raya, age 52, died as a result of injuries she received in a collision yesterday evening in west Phoenix.

According to investigators with the Phoenix Police Department, Ms. Raya was a passenger in a Nissan Xterra that was traveling southbound on 57th Avenue. The driver of the vehicle attempted to turn left to proceed eastbound on Indian School Road and collided with a Jeep Laredo. Ms. Raya was ejected from the vehicle and struck by a Hyundai Elantra that was driving behind the Jeep.

Ms. Raya was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. The driver of her vehicle also was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the Jeep, as well as a passenger in that vehicle, also sustained minor injuries.

The police continue to investigate the circumstances of the collision.
