Phoenix, Arizona—Jesena Andony, age 24 of Canada, was killed when she was hit by a car as she attempted to retrieve a cell phone that she dropped in the roadway. The accident occurred near 68th Place and Thomas Road in Phoenix early Saturday morning.

According to investigators with the Phoenix Police Department, Ms. Andony was on a golf cart with friends when she dropped her cell phone and landed it on the roadway.
