Phoenix, Arizona—A car accident on Friday afternoon left one dead and four others injured.

According to accident investigators with the Phoenix Police Department, a 2019 Ford F550 work truck was northbound on Cave Creek Road when the 21-year-old driver attempted to turn left to proceed westbound onto Sonoran Desert Drive. The truck collided with a Valley Metro van traveling southbound on Cave Creek Road. The collision forced the van into a metal utility pole on the southwest corner of the intersection.

Juan Carlos Molina-Limon, age 59, was driving the van and sustained serious injuries. He was rushed to a local hospital where he died a short time later. Four adult passengers in the van, ranging in age from 32 to 58, also were injured.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the deadly crash.

We offer our condolences to Mr. Molina-Limon's family and friends and wish speedy and complete recoveries to those who were injured.
