Karen Render Killed in Head-on Accident on Grand Avenue in Phoenix

Phoenix, Arizona—Karen Render, age 52 of Surprise, died in a head-on collision on Grand Avenue near Missouri Avenue during Tuesday morning’s rush hour traffic.

Accident investigators report that an unidentified 28-year-old woman who was 35 weeks pregnant lost control of her minivan when she hit a tire in the road.  The minivan crossed the median and struck an oncoming car driven by Ms. Render head-on.  Ms. Render was pronounced dead at the scene.

The pregnant woman suffered serious injuries.  She was transported to the hospital where she delivered a healthy baby girl.

We extend our condolences to Ms. Render’s family and friends over this tragic loss.  We send our best wishes to the new mother and hope for her speedy recovery.
