Mercedes Durham Hit and Killed in Phoenix Crosswalk

Phoenix, Arizona—Mercedes Durham, age 18, was hit and killed as she attempted to cross Butler Drive at 7th Street in a marked crosswalk.

Accident investigators with the Phoenix Poolice Department reported that Ms. Durham was crossing Butler Drive at the east crosswalk when she was struck by a Ford F-150 pickup truck. The driver of the pickup truck was stopped at the intersection of Butler Drive and 7th Street and was waiting for northbound traffic to clear in order to execute a right turn onto 7th Street.
