Phoenix, Arizona—An officer with the Phoenix Police Department is recovering from injuries she sustained after a car accident at 24th Street and Southern last night.

According to accident investigators, the officer was driving her patrol vehicle through the intersection at 24th Street and Southern at around 8:00 p.m. when she was hit by another driver. The driver of the other vehicle is suspected of being impaired. The officer was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment but is expected to make a full recovery.

The initial response to the crash was affected by a second car accident involving another Phoenix police officer. That officer was responding to assist when another vehicle collided with the patrol vehicle near 23rd Street and Southern. That crash caused the patrol vehicle to roll onto its side.

We wish speedy recoveries to the officers involved in these two car accidents.
