Phoenix, Arizona—A car accident took the lives of a four-year-old girl’s parents in a collision near 32nd Street and Broadway Road early Sunday morning at about 4:00 a.m. Phoenix Police accident investigators report that a Toyota Scion southbound on 32nd Street slammed into a Kia Optima that was exiting eastbound I-10.

The man and woman inside the Kia Optima died at the scene.  Phoenix Fire Department responders said that their 4-year-old daughter survived the crash.  She and the occupants of the Toyota Scion suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The preliminary investigation suggests the driver of the Toyota Scion may have been impaired.  Authorities did not release the names or other details of those involved in the accident.  The investigation continues.

Our deepest sympathies are with the victim’s family and friends as they mourn the losses of their loved ones.  We wish the best for the young girl who must now face her future without her parents.
