Car Crash Claims Life of Paul Cosma, Injures One Other

Phoenix, Arizona—A woman who was allegedly impaired and speeding reportedly ran a red light and crashed into a Toyota Highlander, which in turn struck a Toyota Camry on Wednesday night. The as-yet unidentified woman was driving a GMC Yukon eastbound on Cactus Road when she ran the red light at 43rd Avenue.

The Highlander she struck was driven by an as-yet unidentified man in his 50s. He and his passenger, Paul Cosma, age 35, were transported to the hospital in critical condition. Mr. Cosma died shortly after admission. Two young girls in the back seat, ages 5 and 7, sustained only minor injuries.

A nearby BMW was damaged by flying debris. No one in the Camry or BMW was hurt. The police investigation is ongoing.
