Raymond Lounsbury Killed While Crossing Phoenix Street

Phoenix, Arizona—Raymond Harry Lounsbury, age 74, died as the result of injuries he received when he was struck while crossing the street at Union Hills Drive and 43rd Avenue on Sunday evening at about 8:00 pm.

According to Phoenix Police Department accident investigators, Mr. Lounsbury was in the crosswalk at 43rd Avenue, crossing with the light on a walk signal when he was struck by the as-yet unidentified 41-year-old male driver of a BMW sedan that turned left onto northbound 43rd Avenue.  

Mr. Lounsbury was transported to a nearby hospital in extremely critical condition, but later succumbed to his injuries.  The investigation is ongoing.
