Phoenix, Arizona—Samuel Flores, age 52, was struck and killed by an unlicensed teenage driver as he crossed a residential street on Sunday night.  The driver, a 17-year-old male, was eastbound on Atlanta Avenue near Seventh Avenue when the car accident occurred at about 8:00 p.m.

The Phoenix Police Department and the Phoenix Fire Department responded to the accident scene, where Mr. Flores was pronounced deceased.

The teenage driver remained at the scene.  No citations have been issued yet, although charges may be forthcoming.  Early accident reports indicate that driver impairment is not considered a factor, however speed may have contributed to the deadly car accident.

We extend our condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Flores over this tragic loss.
