Mayer, Arizona—Ayeesha Day, age 16 of Mayer, was killed Thursday night in a one-car crash on state highway 69 between Spring Valley and Mayer.  She was a passenger in a car driven by Boderick Yellowman, age 21 of Phoenix.  Yellowman and two other passengers were seriously injured in the accident.  The other passengers have been identified as Damian Porter, age 23, and Taylor England, age 18, both of Mayer.

Arizona DPS investigators report that the car struck the highway median then rolled into oncoming traffic lanes.

The injured victims were air evacuated to John C. Lincoln North Mountain Hospital.

Traffic investigators also report that there were no signs of alcohol or drug involvement, and no indication of excessive speed.  The cause of the accident remains open.

We extend our sympathy to the family and friends of Ms. Day over this tragic loss for them.  We wish the injured men speedy and complete recoveries.
