Prescott, Arizona—A man had to be extricated from his car following a collision at the intersection of Glassford Hill and Florentine roads on Tuesday morning.  Accident investigators report that, at about 8:30 a.m., an unidentified man in a silver 1998 Saturn sedan turned right on a red light from Florentine Road onto Glassford Hill Road.  A Ford pickup traveling north on Glassford struck the sedan’s driver side door.

The crumpled door had to be removed to extricate the driver, according to firefighters with the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority.  The man was first transported to Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott Valley, then later to Flagstaff Medical Center by helicopter for further treatment of his injuries.  He is expected to survive.

The pickup truck driver was uninjured.  No additional information regarding the man’s identity or current medical condition was released.

We wish the injured man a swift and full recovery.
