William Tuebert Killed in Crash on SR-69 in Mayer
Mayer, Arizona—William Ronald Tuebert, age 80 of Mayer, was killed this morning when his Toyota SUV collided with another vehicle.
According to investigators with the Arizona Department of Public Safety, Mr. Tuebert was eastbound on Spring Lane and attempting to make a left turn to proceed northbound on SR-69 when his vehicle was struck by a Ford SUV traveling southbound on SR-69. The impact caused Mr. Tuebert's SUV to roll onto its side. He died on scene.
The driver of the Ford SUV, described as a woman in her 30s, was transported to Yavapai Regional Medical Center (East Campus) with non-life-threatening injuries.
The intersection of SR-69 and Spring Valley has been she scene of multiple fatal accidents, raising questions as to highway design.
