Debra Ceschin Dies Following Hit-and-Run Accident

Fountain Hills, Arizona—A hit-and-run accident left a bicyclist dead near the entrance to McDowell Mountain Regional Park early Tuesday morning. Debra Ceschin, age 57, was riding a bicycle when she was hit by a white pickup truck. She later died from her injuries.

According to deputies, the accident occurred on McDowell Mountain Road near Fountain Hills Boulevard between 5:30-6:30 a.m.  Witnesses reported seeing a white pickup truck stop just north of where the collision occurred.  Two men wearing lime-green long-sleeve shirts exited the vehicle to inspect damage to the right front grill area.  

The truck was later recorded driving through the intersection of Rio Verde Drive and 122nd Street with extensive damage to the front. MCSO received multiple tips that led to the arrest of Gage Grimes, age 27. He has been charged with one count of leaving the scene of a fatal accident.
