
Impairment Suspected in Scottsdale Car Accident that Killed Rideshare Driver

Scottsdale, Arizona—A rideshare driver was killed in a three-car collision on Sunday afternoon near Hayden Road and the Loop 101.
According to accident investigators with the Scottsdale Police Department, a driver going northbound on Hayden Road veered off the roadway and into landscaping before striking a rideshare vehicle that was stopped at the freeway offramp. That vehicle was then propelled into a third vehicle that also was stopped on the westbound offramp.
The driver of the rideshare vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. The occupants of the third vehicle were transported by ambulance to the hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the vehicle that triggered the crash was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. He is expected to survive. Scottsdale police believe he was impaired.
