Scottsdale, Arizona—A man driving an SUV pulled onto the road’s dirt shoulder and parked so that his wife could capture a photo of one of Arizona’s famous sunsets Friday night. Scottsdale Police accident investigators report that a Jeep driven by Michael DiFoggio, age 70, slammed into the SUV, seriously injuring its as-yet unidentified driver. The couple’s young son sustained minor injuries; the wife suffered none.
DiFoggio ran from the scene. Scottsdale Police located and arrested him following a four-hour search. He faces charges of aggravated assault, endangerment and leaving the scene of a serious injury accident. Alcohol may be a factor contributing to the accident.
We wish a speedy and full recovery for those who were injured.
