Scottsdale, Arizona—A driver for Uber struck a pedestrian on Camelback Road early Thursday morning. Police investigators report that a pickup truck driving westbound on Camelback near 78th Street struck a male pedestrian who was walking in a traffic lane at about 1:30 a.m. After speaking with the driver of the pickup, police said neither speed nor impairment appear to be factors contributing to the accident.
Uber has not issued an official statement, though a spokesperson did say the driver has been removed from the cell phone application while the accident investigation continues.
