Lancaster, New York—Tempe resident Julia V. Hunt, age 23, died when her car was struck head-on by a wrong-way driver on a New York highway early Thursday morning.  New York State Police were in the process of searching for a reported wrong-way driver when they came upon the wreckage of two cars near mile marker 413 on Interstate 90.

Accident investigators determined that Titania G. Walker, age 32 of Buffalo, New York, was driving a Ford Escort westbound in the eastbound lane when she struck Ms. Hunt’s Toyota Corolla head-on.  Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.  The accident is still under investigation.

We extend our condolences to the families and friends of the victims of this tragic accident.
