Littlefield, Arizona—Two men were critically injured Monday afternoon when they were ejected from their car as it rolled onto the median of Southbound Interstate 15 just inside the Nevada-Arizona border.  No other vehicles were involved.  The two men were the only occupants of a red Chevrolet Camaro.

Gregg McBride, a trooper with the Arizona Department of Public Safety, reported that the cause of the accident appears to be a blown right-rear tire.

The occupants were identified only as a 39 year old driver from Littlefield, Arizona, and a 38 year old passenger from Cedar City, Utah.

Medics from the Beaver Dam/Littlefield Fire Department responded to the accident scene.  The victims were flown to a nearby hospital by medical helicopters from both Mercy Air and Life Flight.

ADPS Sgt. John Bottoms reminds drivers that tires become weak in the extreme Arizona summer heat and should be checked routinely.

We wish the two injured men swift and complete recoveries.
