Jairo Quinonez Killed in Crash with Semi-Truck

Phoenix, Arizona—Jairo Quinonez, age 32, has died after his SUV collided with a semi-truck on Thursday. The accident occurred on 27th Avenue near McDowell.

According to investigators with the Phoenix Police Department, Mr. Quinonez was driving northbound on 27th Avenue when a 2005 Freightliner truck pulled out of a parking lot on the east side 27th Avenue in an attempt to proceed southbound. The SUV driven by Mr. Quinonez wedged underneath the trailer. Mr. Quinonez died on scene.

Police continue to investigate the collision. Impairment is not believed to be a factor in the collision.
