MCSO Detention Officer Justin Folsome Killed in Accident Near Buckeye

Buckeye, Arizona—Justin Folsome, a detention officer with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, died of injuries he received when his vehicle was struck from behind by a semi-truck on Tuesday afternoon.  The accident occurred on SR-85 near Buckeye.  The driver of the semi was transported and admitted to the hospital.  

“Due to the complexities of the investigation, we were not able to release details of the accident sooner,” MCSO stated in a tweet released at about 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday night.  The Arizona Department of Public Safety is investigating the accident.
