
Albert Batt Killed in Wrong-Way Crash in Tucson

Tucson, Arizona—A wrong-way accident near I-10 and Speedway Boulevard has claimed the life of Albert Batt, age 21.
According to investigators with the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a DPS trooper spotted a wrong-way driver on the I-10 frontage road at Congress Street. The trooper initiated a traffic stop, but the driver turned around and sped away. The driver attempted to turn left onto Speedway Boulevard but lost control and hit a light pole.
Mr. Batt was a passenger in the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The accident investigation remains ongoing and police believe impairment was a factor.
