Pursuit by Border Patrol Agent Near Tucson Ends in Fatal Crash

Tucson, Arizona—Two people in a pickup truck occupied by seven were killed when the truck was pursued by a Border Patrol agent and crashed in the northbound lanes of Interstate 19 near Canoa Road at milepost 31 on Tuesday morning.  

According to accident investigators with the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the pursuit ended when the pickup left the roadway, rolled and struck several trees.  All passengers in the truck bed were ejected.  Four people with varying degrees of injuries were transported to the hospital.  The investigation remains ongoing.
