
Brianna Varnam Killed in Safford Car Accident

Safford, Arizona—Brianna Varnam, age 18 of Safford, died as the result of injuries she received when her car collided with a pickup truck last Thursday evening. Emergency personnel from several agencies responded to the car accident at the intersection of Powerline Road and Stockton Road.
According to a news release from the Graham County Sheriff’s Office, the intersection has a stop sign for east/west travelers. Ms. Varnam was driving her compact Chevrolet eastbound when her car collided with a white Dodge pickup truck that was traveling southbound. Each vehicle carried three occupants.
All six occupants were transported to Mount Graham Regional Medical Center with varying degrees of injuries. A passenger in Ms. Varnam’s car was later flown to a hospital in Tucson for treatment of serious injuries.
The investigation is being conducted by the Graham County Sheriff’s Office and the Arizona Department of Public Safety. No additional information presently is available.
