
Caitlin Festerling and Paul Garcia Killed in Oro Valley Car Accident

Oro Valley, Arizona—The Oro Valley Police Department responded to a fatal car accident involving three vehicles at Shannon Road and Sahuaro Divide on Wednesday afternoon. Accident investigators determined that an Acura Integra proceeding northbound on Shannon Road was struck from behind by a Buick as the Acura turned left onto Sahuaro Divide. The impact pushed the Acura into the path of a GMC Sierra that was southbound on Shannon Road.
Occupants in the Acura, Caitlin Festerling, age 21, and Paul Garcia, age 22, were pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Buick declined treatment at the scene. The driver of the GMC Sierra was transported to a local hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.
No citations have been issued while the investigation continues.
