Justin Howell Killed in Skateboarding Accident

Tucson, Arizona—Justin Howell, age 36, died as the result of injuries he received when he was struck by a car while riding his skateboard late Thursday night.
According to Tucson Police Department accident investigators, Mr. Howell was traveling westbound in the bicycle lane of the 4900 block of East 22nd Street near South Swan Road when he was struck from behind by a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police determined that driver impairment does not appear to be a factor contributing to the accident. However, investigators believe speed did play a role based on interviews with eyewitnesses. The accident investigation is ongoing.
